NERA

Nera Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026

This policy explains how Nera (“Nera,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the Nera Android application (package com.nera.mobile) and neraapp.net. Nera is intended for adults aged 18 and over.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

When you sign in with Google, we receive and use the Google sign-in identifier and basic account/profile information made available through authentication, such as your name, email address, email-verification status, and profile image where provided. Your Nera profile may include your display name, date of birth (used to determine age), gender, biography, gender preference, preferred discovery age range and distance, and profile photos.

Location

If you provide location permission or update your location, Nera processes device/user-provided location to support nearby discovery and calculate an approximate distance between users. Nera does not display your exact coordinates to other users; discovery results use approximate distance.

Communications

We process chat messages and chat photos exchanged in conversations, including the availability and consumption state of View Once photos. A View Once photo becomes unavailable to the recipient after it is opened, but its content or related metadata may remain retained for moderation and safety purposes. Anonymous Mode activity can include room messages, private anonymous conversations, aliases, and session activity.

Audio calls

Nera processes audio-call service metadata, which may include participants, call type, timestamps, status, and call duration as derived from call events. Nera does not record or store audio-call content. Nera currently offers audio calls; this policy does not describe video calling.

Safety and moderation

We process reports, blocks, moderation actions, and related evidence. Where a message, photo, or other material is associated with a report or moderation review, that material and its metadata may be retained for safety, investigation, and enforcement purposes.

Device and security information

We and our service providers may process device and app information such as platform, app version, user agent, push-notification registration information, installation identifiers or one-way hashes, IP address, and authentication/security telemetry. For Android authentication, Nera uses Google Play Integrity and may process its verification result and verdicts to assess app authenticity, licensing, device integrity, request binding, freshness, and replay risk. We do not use this policy to claim that every device signal is collected on every request.

Purchases and ad-free access

If you make a Google Play purchase, Nera processes product and purchase-verification information, purchase status, and the ad-free entitlement and its expiry. The server stores a one-way hash of the Play purchase token for replay protection, rather than the raw token. Google Play processes payment transactions; Nera does not receive your full payment-card details.

Advertising and consent

Free users may see ads served through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. Google may process IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, and information used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention under Google’s policies and your applicable settings. Nera uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent choices where required by law. Where available or required, privacy choices can be revisited in the app.

2. How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts; operate profiles and discovery preferences; calculate nearby discovery; support matching and messaging; provide Anonymous Mode and audio calling; deliver push notifications; process purchases and ad-free entitlements; show and manage advertising and consent; respond to reports and protect users; prevent fraud, abuse, and replay attacks; apply Google Play Integrity checks; and diagnose, maintain, and improve the service.

3. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate Nera, protect users, comply with law, or carry out your choices. Relevant providers and categories include:

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not identify a specific backend hosting or media-storage company here because the available product configuration does not confirm a single provider for every component.

4. Advertising and consent

Free accounts may receive ads. While your purchased ad-free entitlement is active, Nera suppresses ads in the app. Google AdMob may process information as described in Google’s policies. UMP presents or records consent choices where legally required; the choices and applicable requirements can differ by region.

5. Data retention

We do not state fixed retention periods here because the service does not define one universal period for all data. Account, profile, conversation, and service data may be retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Moderation and safety evidence, including material associated with reports, may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for review, safety, abuse prevention, or legal obligations. Marking a photo View Once or consuming it prevents ordinary recipient access; it does not necessarily immediately destroy content or metadata retained for moderation. Security and audit records may also be retained as needed for abuse and fraud prevention.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated API access, Google authentication, Android Play Integrity checks, and HTTPS/TLS for network transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You can edit profile information and discovery preferences in Nera, update location, report or block other users using available app controls, and use privacy/consent options where they are available or required. To request deletion of your account or personal data, email support@neraapp.net. Nera currently does not provide a functioning in-app account-deletion flow. We may need to retain limited information where necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or legitimate service operations.

8. Children

Nera is intended only for people aged 18 or older and is not intended for children.

9. International processing

Your information may be processed or stored outside your country, depending on where Nera and its service providers operate. Privacy protections in those locations may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Nera changes. We will revise the effective date above when we publish an update. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies to your use going forward, subject to applicable law.
